FLIGHTGRAFLOOP

LOOP is a kinetic light work developed by FLIGHTGRAF over roughly eight years.
Inspired by the mystery of crop circles and the power of the endless circle, LOOP is built entirely in-house, from its structural design and control system to its housing. Light, motion and sound are composed as one, giving form to connection, repetition and continuity itself.
What sets LOOP apart is that it needs no truss and no ceiling suspension, which most kinetic light works require. It is self-standing, weather-resistant and wirelessly controlled, so it can be installed not only indoors but also in plazas, on seashores, in parks and across urban spaces. The layout adapts to each site, whether circle, grid or line.
This time, LOOP is paired with 9.1-channel spatial audio, and light, motion and sound answer one another to form an immersive space, pushing the whole space beyond its physical boundaries. LOOP is designed to travel: each time it arrives somewhere new, it creates a fresh experience shaped by that place.
FLIGHTGRAF is a creative studio that creates immersive experiences by combining light, sound, and space, with visual expression at the heart of its practice.
While visuals and sound are often produced separately in conventional video production, we design both simultaneously within the same creative environment, integrating sound as an essential structural element from the earliest stages of conceptual development to create a unified world.
By utilizing technologies such as lighting, projection, and multichannel surround sound, we treat space itself as a canvas, creating deeply cohesive experiences that leave a lasting impression on audiences.
We manage every stage of a project, from concept development and design to production and execution, collaborating with artists, educational institutions, and research organizations in Japan and internationally.
Through the fusion of art and technology, we continue to explore new possibilities for creative expression that bring new value to spaces.
